My writing process is absolutely horrible! Theres times when I'm on top of my game and totally prepared and then theres times when I wait weeks and then start my essay.
When my professor is prepared and has guidelines and set dates for me to follow then I'm totally prepared and good to go.
If my professor just gives me an assignment and sets me loose I usually procrastinate.
I haven't followed this exact writing process. I had different ways in which I do a first and second draft and have them peer edited and then go straight to the final draft with proofreading.
This Writing Process that we've been given in English class seems very helpful. It seems like the right way to get things done and to be prepared. I should be prepared and get decent grades in this class. 😀😀
I feel your pain!!! 99% of the time I'm doing the essay the day before its due :((.. hopefully the writing process we learned in this class can help solve our problem

ReplyDeleteWell, it's one thing to learn a writing process - it's another thing to do it! Just remember that there's no right way. Procrastinating could be an important part of your process if you're actually thinking about the assignment and not just ignoring it (it is pre-writing). Explore different techniques and processes until you find one that makes you feel confident about your writing.
ReplyDeleteYou and I are on the same page! I usually always procrastinate when it comes to writing papers, then with the writing process hopefully it helps us make new habits in our writing!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you're going through! I tend to do the exact same thing and the next thing I know, if already dug myself into a deeper hole... I think the things we learn and class and through each other will hopefully help is become better writers. :)
