Audi R8 is Jooooy!
The main argument of the advertisement is that with an Audi R8 you'll be joyful and a joyful that has meaning. The purpose of this ad is to persuade the audience, drivers and future drivers to purchase an Audi R8. The author is Audi.
This ad doesnt really have a ethical or logical appeal. The appeal is a little bit emotional because it appeals more to the eye and to the heart of someone who wants an Audi. The only evidence present is the Audi symbol at the bottom of the page. There are no counterarguments present.
The visual in the image is the car with lots of tire marks around the car. The tire marks make it look like the car can be maneuvered and driven any which way possible.
The writing is pretty clever. The authors used Audi's four circle symbol to spell out 'joy'. The text also says, 'Finally has meaning'. I think its kind of true. If someone did obtain an Audi R8 I think they would be pretty happy.
In conclusion I think this ad was pretty effective. Its not going to persuade every person that sees the ad to buy an R8 but its appeals to the eyes.

Hey Shristi, I like the choice of image you chose for your analysis! I agree that the author's use of the company logo in the picture is clever when it spells out 'Joy'. There is not much statistical evidence on why you should buy an Audi, but I bet the targeted audience wouldn't be as joyful if they saw the price of it! haha The image is pretty effective in appealing to those who want to feel "joyful" and the car itself is pretty nice. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Shristi, I agree with you that this is such a clever advertisement! There's no way that I could ever think of something like this. My brain just isn't this creative. Just the picture of the car persuades me to buy an Audi R8 but the truth is that I cant afford one! They're so expensive and there's no way I can possibly pay $115,900!
ReplyDeleteI think Leonard and Marissa's comments show that Audi's ad has a second purpose too. Since most of us cannot afford an Audi, the ad is not just trying to persuade us to buy one. Instead, it's just trying to make us remember and aspire for the Audi brand (and maybe someday, when we're rich, we can buy one).
ReplyDeleteMy oh My what i would do for a Audi R8 lol. I agree with Anne"s comment that the purpose other than too buy one, it to remember it. Because i imagined what i would look like driving down the streets of sacramento in this bad boy. Your emphasis on the 4 circles of Audi being inserted in the word joy is true as well because i don't think anybody could not smile if they had this car :)
